Certified Oil Extends Agreement with Eby-Brown

Distributor and subsidiary helping rebranded chain implement new retail strategy
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Certified Oil has extended its wholesale supply agreement with Eby-Brown Co. Under the agreement, Eby-Brown will continue to provide service to all 80 of Certified Oil's locations. Certified Oil has realized "significant value" with Eby-Brown's Vendor Days program, the company said. It allows the chain to determine its annual promotional calendar through a series of customized vendor meetings.

Certified Oil has recently undergone a complete rebranding, and opened the doors to its retail prototype location in Chillicothe, Ohio. (Click here for previous CSP Daily News coverage.)

The 3,200-square-foot store features eye-catching graphics in the chain's trademark red and blue, strong in-store programs, state-of-the-art lighting and a cooler case merchandised with a complete fresh food set, which prominently features fresh, never frozen sandwiches, produced by Wakefield Sandwich Co., a division of Eby-Brown. These enhancements complement Certified Oil's fresh retail strategy.

Wayne Wills, director of marketing for Certified Oil, said the company's "relationship with Eby-Brown for 15 years has helped in our continual sales growth."
