A special grand-opening event was held on September 30 and included a guest appearance by Chester the Chicken.
"We are pleased to have a branded program like Chester's here at Wazz's," said Michael Wasnich, owner of Wazz's Party Plus. "Chester's experience in foodservice [image-nocss] operations and marketing will be a great tool as we provide locals and visitors of Drummond Island with the best fried chicken around."
Wazz's Party Plus will now offer Chester's signature menu items such as fried bone-in chicken, chicken tenders, potato wedges and biscuits. The new Chester's location will be open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner.
"We are proud to welcome Wazz's Party Plus into the Chester's family," said Kathryn Kudulis, brand manager for Birmingham, Ala.-based Chester's. "We are looking forward to opening another great location in Michigan."
Chester's is a leading quick-service restaurant (QSR) concept with more than 1,800 licensed and franchised locations. Chicken on the Fly, its latest "grab-n-go" program, offers customers a convenient meal solution with no royalties, minimal investment and little labor in less than 30 days, the company said.
