Convenience Stores Caffeinate Christmas

Sheetz, Road Runner, Cumberland Farms among chains that provided free coffee Dec. 25

ALTOONA, Pa. -- Following a longstanding holiday tradition, Sheetz Inc. was among the convenience-store chains that celebrated the holidays by offering a free cup of coffee on Christmas Day.

Customers at any one of 511 Sheetz convenience stores in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland and North Carolina could receive a free cup of coffee.

“Offering free coffee on Christmas Day is our way of saying thank you to all of our loyal Sheetz customers for their business, and allowing us to be a resource for them 24 hours a day, 365 days a year,” said Ryan Sheetz, director of brand for the Altoona, Pa.-based company. “We have been giving free coffee away on Christmas Day for over 25 years. This is the perfect opportunity for us to show our appreciation and celebrate the holidays.”

North Little Rock, Ark.-based Coulson Oil Co.’s 180 Road Runner convenience stores in Arkansas and Texas also offered free coffee on Dec. 25, the company said on social media.

And Cumberland Farms’ more than 550 convenience stores in Connecticut, Florida, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont offered free coffee on Christmas Day from 8 a.m. to 11:59 p.m., the Framingham, Mass.-based retailer said on social media.
