SIOUX FALLS, S.D. --Hot Stuff Foods partnered with more than 85 retailer locations to upgrade or add additional concepts during first-quarter 2005, according to Des Hague, president and CEO.
He said that the extent of the upgrades really depended on the needs of the individual locations. In all cases retailers continued to serve the Hot Stuff Pizza program that has been so successful for them. In addition, more and more are opting to expand their menu offering as well as putting in new trade dress with updated branding.
Hague [image-nocss] added that over the last two years, Hot Stuff Foods has developed two new platforms. In addition to the traditional Hot Stuff Pizza shop, the company created Hot Stuff Food On the Go and Hot Stuff Food Xpress. Now, depending on variables such as retail space, traffic flow, demographicsour existing franchisees can upgrade their Hot Stuff Pizza program to fit the specific needs of their location, he said.
Hague also credited the company's new technology for the successful upgrades: Our new iQuest (an acronym for Quality, Uniqueness, Execution, Sustainability and Teamwork) handheld technology easily walks c-store operators through a pie chart of components necessary for successful food execution.
Also, he said important components such as clean restrooms, effective marketing, employees in clean uniforms and other elements add to the perception of the upgrade.
