Fresh & Easy Debuts 'Gourmet' Line

Retailer offers "fine-dining" meals
EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- Building on the popularity of its fresh&easy meals, Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market has launched Gourmet--a new range of affordable, restaurant-quality fresh and frozen products. Created by Fresh & Easy's team of chefs, Gourmet gives customers a fine-dining experience with all the comforts of home.

Like all fresh&easy products, Gourmet items are made with fresh, premium ingredients with no added preservatives, no artificial colors or flavors, no high-fructose corn syrup, no added trans fats and only use preservatives when absolutely [image-nocss] necessary.

New fresh&easy Gourmet products available in stores in time for Valentine's Day include: Gourmet Soups: Crab and Sweet Potato Bisque, $3.99; French Onion Soup, $3.99. Gourmet Fresh Prepared Meals: California Champagne Shrimp, $5.99; Fontina Chicken, $5.99; Apricot Pork Tenderloin, $5.99; Lobster Ravioli, $5.99; Mediterranean Salmon, $5.99; Chicken Milano, $5.99; Portabella Pappardelle, $5.99; Braised Lamb Shank, $6.99; Slow Braised Beef, $6.99. Gourmet Frozen Meals: Braised Beef in Red Wine Sauce, $6.99; Mediterranean-style Fisherman Stew, $6.99; Pork with Portobello Mushroom Sauce, $6.99. Gourmet Dessert: Lemon Tartlets, $2.99; Mixed Berry Tartlets, $2.99; Dark Chocolate Raspberry Gelato. Truffles, $5.99.

"We've heard continually from our customers that they love our fresh&easy meals, so we set out to create a truly gourmet line of affordable meals to give our customers even more options," said John Burry, Fresh & Easy's chief commercial officer. "Instead of spending $20 a plate at a restaurant, customers can pop in to Fresh & Easy for delicious and affordable meals they can enjoy in the comfort of their homes."
