The opening of the new commissary and distribution center follows on Dallas-based 7-Eleven's recent announcement that it will be expanding its foodservice offering.
The massive 130,000-square-foot facility operated [image-nocss] by Bohemia-based Norris Food Services and under strict Department of Homeland Security and Department of Agriculture food standards, incorporates both a distribution center and commissary and employs more than 250 Long Islanders who make a variety of fresh foods every day for the retailer.
Among the executives attending the launch celebration will be Joseph DePinto, CEO of 7-Eleven; William Norris, CEO of Norris Food Services; Michael J. Norris, president of Norris Food Services; and Joseph G. Chiovera, senior fresh foods director for 7-Eleven.
7-Eleven operates, franchises or licenses approximately 7,600 7-Eleven stores in North America.
