How QT Applied Out-of-the-Box Thinking to In-the-Box Pizza

C-store retailer introduces Carryout X-Large Pizza, with a sharing twist

TULSA, Okla. -- Convenience-store retailer QuikTrip Corp. has launched its new Carryout X-Large Pizza, a fresh, made-to-order pizza featuring the same ingredients as its by-the-slice pizza.

The new, full-size pizza features 12 large slices. Customers can choose from breakfast pizza (all-day, 16 slices), pepperoni, supreme or create their own combination of toppings.

“We are extremely excited about the new Carryout X-Large Pizza,” said Amy Phillips, corporate sales manager. “We’ve taken everything our customers love about the by-the-slice pizza--from the perfect crust to fresh, quality ingredients, and made it an ideal size for sharing.”

For ease of sharing, the QT X-Large Pizza with others, the pizza’s container was specially made. The uniquely perforated box creates four separate pizza “plates” and the remaining box parts re-fold to make a smaller enclosed pizza box for storing leftovers, assuming there are any.

Carryout X-Large Pizza is now available in all QuikTrip locations with a full-service kitchen.

QT Kitchens, which launched nationwide last year, are located in the majority of QT stores throughout the United States, offering breakfast sandwiches, flatbreads, gourmet toasted sandwiches, made-to-order personal pizzas, by-the-slice pizza, specialty coffee drinks, smoothies, frozen treats and more.
