Krispy Krunchy Chicken Takes the Wheel (of Fortune)

C-store QSR to appear as a gift tag on iconic game show

LAFAYETTE, La. -- Krispy Krunchy Chicken, a quick-service-restaurant (QSR) fixture in many convenience stores, will participate as a gift tag on "Wheel of Fortune" at the end of January and the beginning of February.

"We are thrilled to have our brand be a part of something as iconic as 'Wheel of Fortune.' We will be tuned in to see if any of the players get lucky and win our prize and look forward to more people across the country being introduced to our chicken," said Allison Shapiro, Krispy Krunchy Chicken's director of communications.

During a week of shows themed "Wheel Across America," if a player lands on the Krispy Krunchy Chicken wedge, they then call a letter. If the letter is in the puzzle, the player will pick up the wedge. Host Pat Sajak will then announce the value of the prize as $1,000 “from Krispy Krunchy Chicken, the best fried chicken you never heard of,” said the company in a statement.

The shows will air the week of Jan. 29. The Krispy Krunchy gift tag will be featured in three episodes that week, currently scheduled for Jan. 29, Jan. 31 and Feb. 2.

Lafayette, La.-based Krispy Krunchy Chicken was recognized by Thrillist, an online media company, as "America's Best Fried Chicken Chain" in 2017. The fast-food chain currently has more than 2,300 locations and is located in 41 U.S. states, American Samoa and Malaysia.
