LAFAYETTE, La. -- In 2017, Krispy Krunchy Chicken opened more than 500 stores and sold 24.5 million chicken wings. And the convenience-store-based quick-service restaurant (QSR) vows to top that growth this year.
"As big as 2017 was for us, we have even bigger plans for 2018 and look forward to the opportunities this next year will bring," said Neal Onebane, founder and CEO.
In addition to millions of units of Cajun-style chicken, the chain also sold more than 29.6 million biscuits and 2.3 million servings of macaroni and cheese throughout the year, the company reported. In November, Krispy Krunchy Chicken announced a partnership with Otis Spunkmeyer, which added warm Chunky Chocolate Supreme, Peanut Butter, Sugar and Oatmeal Cinnamon Raisin cookies to its menu.
Last year, the company earned significant attention on a national scale. Thrillest.com labeled the concept as “America’ s best-kept fast-food secret.” The brand seeks to build off that growing presence by boosting its digital marketing outreach, according to the article.
Alexandria, La.-based Krispy Krunchy Foods offers a premium c-store-based QSR concept with approximately 2,300 retail locations in 41 states, as well as in Malaysia and American Samoa.
