Landshire Acquires Mom's Food Products

Will help expand DSD footprint

ST. LOUIS -- Effective February 28, Landshire Inc. has acquired Mom's Food Products Inc., Fort Worth, Texas, which specializes in custom-made sandwiches for the convenience store, vending and other foodservice industries. The acquisition involves 2,400 direct-store delivery (DSD) locations within Texas, with offices in the Dallas, Austin and Houston areas; and Mom's Food Products production plant in Fort Worth, which features Mom's Fresh Sandwich line of products.

Mom's Food Products has been in service since 1946, with the current ownership and management group in place [image-nocss] since 1980. It has 85 employees in its production plant and out in the field as route sales representatives, district managers and regional managers.

Mom's Food Products also distributes Bon Appetit pastry, Jack Link's beef jerky, fresh salads, Eckrich Deli Lunch Meat, Kraft Lunchables, Van Holten Pickles, coffee and other items to its DSD locations throughout Texas.

Landshire said that it is committed to continuing to pursue the highest level of quality and service to all of Mom's Food Products customers. It also plans to introduce Mom's sandwich products to its national distribution channels.

With this acquisition, Landshire will increase its DSD customer count to 12,000 convenience stores and will secure a stronger presence in the state of Texas.

Joseph E. Trover Jr., CEO of Landshire, said that this "acquisition is a positive win for both companies, and we look forward to growing together in the future of foodservice."

Founded in 1961, Landshire is a leader in offering foodservice products. Over the past 50 years, it has grown from a small regional sandwich producer to a national supplier of foodservice products. Landshire is currently in 22 states through DSD providing pre-packaged sandwiches, hot sandwiches, pastry and roller grill items to its customers. It also has national distribution of its products through partnerships with national foodservice suppliers.
