Mapco Launches Fresh-Food Initiative

Convenience-store chain partners with FreshOne for grab and go

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. --Mapco, the retail convenience-store division of parent company Delek U.S., has formed a partnership with FreshOne LLC on an in-store concept to support its fresh grab-and-go offerings.

Across a selection of stores in the Nashville and Chattanooga, Tenn., markets, Mapco will feature several new fresh-food concepts including hot breakfast sandwiches, doughnuts, muffins, deli sandwiches, salads, wraps, desserts and other items supporting day-part snacking.

“We believe that the quality, consistency and healthy snacking options this partnership brings allows our stores to provide our growing customer base with a reliable place to purchase their fresh ‘grab-and-go’ products,” said Andy Scoggins, vice president of marketing, food and beverage.

A focus on breakfast items will support the convenience-store chain’s new Feel Good coffee offering, giving customers a complete breakfast meal solution. For lunch, it has a new lineup of deli-style products and snacking options.

“We thank Mapco for their confidence in FreshOne as we look to enhance their current fresh ‘grab-and-go’ selection, and provide their customers several on-trend offerings to choose from,” said Matt Yost, vice president of sales for FreshOne. “We have some terrific new items and flavors that will delight Mapco's customer base.”

Dallas-based FreshOne is a fresh-food partner and nationwide provider of ready-to-eat fresh-food programs, associated order and business information systems, foodservice consulting and nationwide temperature-controlled logistics.

A division of Delek U.S. Holdings Inc., Brentwood, Tenn.-based Mapco operates 373 stores under seven brands: Mapco Express, Mapco Mart, East Coast, Fast Food and Fuel, Favorite Markets, Delta Express and Discount Food Mart. The retail segment supplies fuel and merchandise throughout the network of stores. About 80% of the stores are located in Tennessee and Alabama.
