NOCO Buys Franchise Rights for Salsarita's

15 Mexican QSR cantinas planned initially

TONAWANDA, N.Y. -- NOCO Energy Corp. has purchased the franchise rights for Salsarita's Fresh Cantina in the Cleveland and Pittsburgh markets, reported Buffalo Business First. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The rights allow NOCO to develop restaurants and offer opportunities to third parties, said the report. Salsarita's, based in Charlotte, N.C., is a Mexican quick-service restaurant (QSR) that allows patrons to create their own made-to-order meals.

NOCO said it plans to open 15 stores in the two areas over the [image-nocss] next five years, according to the report.

There are now 17 Salsarita's restaurants in six states, and the chain expects to have 45 in operation by yearend, the report said. More than 250 franchise commitments have been signed and more than 50 stores have been added in the last four months, Salsarita's said.

NOCO also owns Western New York franchise rights for the Quiznos Sub chain.

Tonawanda, N.Y.-based NOCO Energy operates 33 convenience stores with gasoline in the Buffalo and Rochester areas of western New York. It also provides industrial and residential fuels, industrial and commercial lubricants and motor oils, heating and cooling services and oil recovery services.
