YORK, Pa. -- Readers of The York Daily Record and The York Sunday News voted Rutter's Farm Stores to the top spot in the annual Best of York reader's poll in all five categories for which the convenience store company received nominations in 2014: Best Quick Service Breakfast, Best Quick Service Lunch, Best Quick Service Dinner, Best Coffee and Best Milk.

Rutter's beat several national brands, including Starbuck's, Chipotle and Panera Bread, on the way to No. 1, highlighting Rutter's hometown appeal, the company said. It has also received wide praise in the convenience store industry for its foodservice.

"We are proud of the recognition we've been given on a national level, and winning the Best of York by voting from our loyal customers reaffirms our commitment to innovative new menu items using the best and most flavorful ingredients for our customers," said Derek Gaskins, Rutter's chief customer officer.

Besides winning recognition in many of these food categories through the years, 2014 marks the 12th consecutive year that Rutter's Milk earned the Best of York title.

Rutter's has been a household name in central Pennsylvania since its beginning in 1921. Today, Rutter's is led by the family's third generation of leadership with Scott Hartman as president and CEO, Todd Rutter as president of Rutter's Dairy and Tim Rutter as president of M&G Realty. It has approximately 60 convenience stores in the Keystone State.
