LATHAM, N.Y. -- A Papa John's pizza restaurant has opened in Latham, N.Y., in the Airport Mobil station reported The Albany Times Union. It is the first Papa John's restaurant to open in a convenience store, according to the report. The franchisee is Christian King. Papa John's International Inc. is based in Louisville, Ky.
Meanwhile, Richard and Mandy Ragozzine, the owners of an Oxford, Conn., Mobil station, have added Double R Chicken & Ribs to their convenience store, an idea Richard said he had been kicking around for years after tasting Broaster fried chicken, reported The Waterbury [image-nocss] Republican American. "I wanted a ranch with horses," he quipped, referring to the name Double R. "But I ended up with a gas station."
Ribs and chicken have top billing at Double R, but the menu delivers plenty of other homestyle favorites available to eat in or pick up at the drive-thru window, said the report. Chicken is prepared using the Broaster method. It also offers full breakfast, lunch and dinner menus.
