Coming in two flavors, Chicken Alfredo and Pasta Marinara, "the entrees are offered in three ways so you can choose the one that fits your day or your lifestyle," Stewart's Shops said on its website. "Find them in our freezer section, ready to heat in our cooler, or already warmed up for you right at the counter. You can decide what you want when you want it, now or then: whether that's eating right at the shop or taking them to go, for work or for home."

The retailer also recently rolled out meatballs.

"Meatballs are the new hamburger at Stewart’s Shops," it said. "Enjoy them anyway you like, anytime of day: in a half sub, a whole sub, or buy each meatball individually – to eat right away or to take home for dinner with pasta and sauce."

Meanwhile, the dairy-based chain held a contest to name some new ice cream flavors. The winning names and varieties:

  • Whiteface Fudge: Butter fudge-flavored ice cream with complements of dark-chocolate flakes and a white-chocolate, sea-salt swirl.
  • Praline Swirl: Vanilla-flavored ice cream with pecan praline and a salty caramel swirl.
  • Crazy Coconut: Coconut-flavored chocolate ice cream with a caramel coconut swirl and brownie pieces.

Saratoga Springs, N.Y.-based Stewart's Shops operates more than 330 convenience stores in New York and Vermont and has annual sales of approximately $1.6 billion.
