Stripes Stores Debut Dallas Cowboys Cups

The chain will feature seven different collectible designs

DALLAS -- Stripes Convenience Stores is kicking off football season with new Dallas Cowboys Cups on its fountain. One cup design will be released each week for seven weeks.

The 32-ounce, dishwasher-safe cups include one free fountain beverage or Slurpee drink fill-up. Six of the cup designs feature individual Dallas Cowboys players Demarcus Lawrence, Travis Frederick, Ezekiel Elliott, Cole Beasley, Sean Lee and Dak Prescott. The seventh cup showcases a team design. Participating locations will also stock National Football League (NFL)-branded helmet straws.

The convenience-store chain’s Laredo Taco Company foodservice offer is also bringing back its El Campeon Taco for football season. The promotional materials for the taco, made with egg, chorizo, potato, bean and cheese, will feature Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott. Guests could score two of the tacos for $3 for a limited time.

“Football season is an exciting time of year, and all of us at Stripes are ready to cheer on Texas’ and America’s team through this collaboration with Stripes and the Dallas Cowboys,” said Greg Kirian, director of marketing for Stripes, which is owned by Dallas-based 7-Eleven Inc. “As part of the 7-Eleven family, Stripes stores are able to bring more variety, more in-store programs and more exclusive promotions to our customers. We share the same love of football as our customers and know they are going to love these exclusive Dallas Cowboys cups as much as we do.”

Stripes operates 525 convenience stores in Texas and Louisiana. Earlier this year, 7-Eleven Inc. acquired the c-store brand from Sunoco in one of the largest acquisitions in 7-Eleven’s history.  As part of the changeover, Stripes’ stores in the South started offering Slurpee frozen dispensed drinks in June.

Based in Irving, Texas, 7-Eleven Inc. operates, franchises and/or licenses more than 66,000 stores in 17 countries. It ranked No. 1 on CSP’s 2018 Top 202list of the largest c-store chains in the United States.
