Subway Loves Love's

Sandwich chain names Love’s Travel Stops one of its franchisees of the year

MILFORD, Conn. -- Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores was recently named one of Subway’s top franchisees. The world’s largest sandwich chain recognized the convenience-store brand at its 2016 Franchisee of the Year awards.

A total of 12 franchisee teams were named as recipients of the award during Subway’s annual meetings in Chicago. Love’s was the only convenience-store chain recognized in the awards.

Love’s operates more than 140 Subway locations in 31 states. In a press release, Love’s outlined its ongoing commitment to developing new Subway stores and why partnership with the brand has been fruitful in the long term.

“This concept has proven to be very successful time in and time out. The investment is minimal compared to other concepts we operate, and the ease of execution coupled with the quality of the product make it a perfect fit for us,” said Joe Cotton, director of restaurant services for Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores, Oklahoma City.

“Subway has been great to work with as a branded partner; they give input and support from the planning process until you open the doors to serve the public," he continued. "The training support and tools they have are outstanding, which is why when we are looking at building a new location they are our first concept of choice.”

Subway, Milford, Conn., operates nearly 45,000 locations in more than 100 countries.
