TA, Petro Tout 'Freshest Roast on the Road'

TravelCenters of America debuts World Blends Coffee, ground fresh on site

WESTLAKE, Ohio -- TravelCenters of America LLC has introduced World Blends Coffee Co., with premium whole bean blends ground onsite just before brewing. World Blends Coffee is available exclusively at TA and Petro and includes four varieties: House Blend, chosen for its rich, robust flavor; Dark Sky Cafe Blend, chosen for its extra measure of caffeine; Red Sky, a South American medium-bodied coffee; and High Mountain Arabica, a full-bodied dark roast.

"We understand that customers choose TA and Petro for a wide range of reasons. … So we strive to have our locations meet as many driver needs and wants as possible, including the freshest roast on the road," said Tom O'Brien, president and CEO of TravelCenters of America.

"The coffee in our restaurants and travel stores was good before, but the new fresh ground, whole bean blends take our quality offering to another level," said John Ponczoch, senior vice president of food marketing and operations for TravelCenters of America.

"We set out to provide the best cup of coffee on the road, and we think drivers will agree we've succeeded. All they need to do is follow their nose and the tantalizing aroma to the nearest TA or Petro to get the 'freshest roast on the road'," said Skip McGary, TravelCenters of America's senior vice president of travel store operations.

In other company foodservice news, TravelCenters of America recently opened two new Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen restaurants in the TA/Petro travel center network: TA Holbrook, located at I-40, Exit 283 in Holbrook, Ariz., and Petro Bucksville, located at I-20/I-59, Exit 100 in Bucksville, Ala.

Customers can order from Popeyes' full menu, including chicken and shrimp meals and sandwiches, in addition to signature side dishes, sauces and desserts.

Popeyes at the Bucksville Petro complements the full-service Iron Skillet restaurant, while Popeyes at TA Holbrook joins the quick-service deli meal option.
