Thomas Coffee Partners With Pepsi MidAmerica

St. Louis coffee roaster announces c-store program with regional distributor
ST. LOUIS -- Thomas Coffee has launched a five-state distribution agreement with Pepsi MidAmerica throughout its Pepsi franchise territory in southeastern Missouri, southern Illinois, Tennessee, Kentucky and Arkansas. Marion, Ill.-based Pepsi MidAmerica has selected Thomas Coffee as the primary coffee vendor in its respective franchise territory.

The Pepsi MidAmerica sales and marketing team will initially focus on retail, food service and office coffee service/vending and then move into the convenience store market, which will significantly increase the visibility and awareness [image-nocss] of Thomas Coffee.

"We are very positive about developing this relationship with an industry leader like Pepsi MidAmerica. We feel our focus and services are a great fit with its initiatives and we look forward to enhancing our reach with this partnership." said Bob Betz, president and CEO of Thomas Coffee, St. Louis.

Senior vice president John Rains of Pepsi MidAmerica said, "Thomas Coffee is a very high-quality gourmet product that fits well within our quality image, and we are excited about achieving its widespread distribution throughout our five-state franchise territory. Their coffee and tea products are a nice compliment to our existing product line to provide a complete beverage offering throughout our marketing channels."

Thomas Coffee has been on a fast growth track, it said. Betz, along with his business partners, purchased the company, which has been importing, roasting and blending coffee in St. Louis for the past 25 years, in 2009. The primary goal for Thomas Coffee is growth and establishing a reputation as the premier supplier of high-quality specialty coffee. This partnership with Pepsi MidAmerica will help Thomas Coffee achieve its goals and significantly enhance its reputation.

Thomas Coffee has used experience in importing, roasting and blending coffee dating back to 1905 to develop its proprietary blends and single origin coffee offerings, it said.
