UPDATE: Alon Brands Retail will be honoring local military veterans at all ALON/7-Eleven locations in West Texas and New Mexico for Veterans Day this year. On Sunday, Nov. 11, stores will be giving away a free large coffee or a free Big Gulp to all Veterans and active duty military personnel, the Dallas-based retailer has announced.
ALTOONA, Pa. -- In recognition of their service to the country, Sheetz convenience stores will be serving all military veterans a free hot dog lunch on Nov. 12 to commemorate Veterans' Day. Veterans will be served from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at all 430 Sheetz locations throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia and North Carolina.
"We are proud of all of those who have served our country and want to show our respect and appreciation on Veterans Day," said Sheetz CEO and president Stan Sheetz. "This is a day when we are humbled by their sacrifice and their service to protect the freedoms we enjoy."
All who have served in America's Armed Forces will receive two free hot dogs with their choice of toppings and a 22-ounce fountain drink. In order to receive their free lunch, active duty or retired veterans must present a valid military identification card, be in uniform or show other proof of military service.
