Will Ferrell Latest Designer of 'Coffee Cup With A Cause'

Proceeds from 7-Eleven promotion to provide scholarships for cancer survivors
DALLAS -- Actor Will Ferrell is the fifth celebrity designer in 7-Eleven Inc.'s "Coffee Cup With A Cause" cause-marketing campaign. Ferrell's cup will benefit Cancer for College, a California-based charity providing support and inspiration to cancer survivors through academic scholarships.

Fans at participating U.S. 7-Eleven stores can purchase his snowman cup beginning November 15 and available through January 3 or while supplies last.

7-Eleven guarantees a $250,000 minimum donation to Cancer for College, but the support could increase depending on the number of [image-nocss] cups sold. Consumers can increase the contribution by purchasing Will's limited-edition cup.

To commemorate the launch of Ferrell's Coffee Cup With A Cause, the celebrity brought snow to Los Angeles yesterday outside a 7-Eleven store.

"I hate cancer, but love college," Ferrell said. "My Coffee Cup With A Cause not only lets me flex my extensive artistic abilities (yes, I drew that snowman all by myself), but it also gave me the opportunity to support my favorite charity, Cancer for College, a cause I truly believe in. It's a great cup for even a greater cause."

"Coffee Cup With A Cause allows our customers an opportunity to directly support a cause that can affect so many lives," said Rita Bargerhuff, 7-Eleven's vice president and chief marketing officer. "For merely the cost of a cup of coffee, consumers can contribute to the Cancer for College program and ensure that more young people who have had cancer can get a college education."

Ferrell's cup can be filled with any 7-Eleven hot beverage and customized with an assortment of creams, syrups and spices at no extra charge. The cup follows Nicole Richie and Benji and Joel Madden's Richie-Madden Children's Foundation, Jennifer Hudson's Boys and Girls Clubs of America, John Cena's Make-A-Wish Foundation and Snoop Dogg's Snoop Youth Football League limited-edition cups.

Cancer for College was formed in 1993 by two-time cancer survivor and double-amputee Craig Pollard. Cancer for College was created to provide hope and inspiration by providing college scholarships to cancer survivors. Since its inception, Cancer for College has granted more than $1 million in college scholarships to more than 800 cancer survivors.

7-Eleven, Dallas, operates, franchises or licenses more than 8,300 7-Eleven stores in North America. Globally, it operates, franchises or licenses more than 39,000 stores in 16 countries. During 2009, 7-Eleven stores worldwide generated total sales of more than $58.9 billion.
