7-Eleven Feeling the Fidget-Spinner Impulse

Convenience channel jumps on latest toy craze

IRVING, Texas -- 7‑Eleven Inc. is among the many convenience-store chains selling fidget spinners, it has announced. Fidget spinners are “the popular new toy designed to calm nerves, ease anxiety and provide hours of entertainment.”

Ready-made for point-of-purchase impulse buys, fidget spinners are being marketed as an aid for people who are stressed or have ADHD, autism or anxiety. But they have spread beyond their intended users and have caught on with many children.

"The fidget spinner is a very hot item right now, and we know customers want it," said Tony Stapleton, senior product director at 7-Eleven. "7-Eleven continues to innovate to give its customers what they want, when and where they want it."

7-Eleven said it sources fidget spinners from several suppliers to provide a variety of choices for its customers. Customers will find a variety of spinners, which come in multiple colors, glow-in-the-dark, tie-dye or metallic.

Priced at $7.99 and above, fidget spinners are available in 7-Eleven locations nationwide.

Irving, Texas-based 7‑Eleven Inc. operates, franchises or licenses more than 61,000 c-stores in 17 countries, including 10,700 in North America.
