Core-Mark Makes Organizational Changes

Hobson, McPherson assume newly created positions following company review

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- Chris Hobson will assume the new position of senior vice president of sales and marketing and Scott McPherson will assume the new position of senior vice president of business operations and strategic opportunities at Core-Mark, president and CEO Tom Perkins has announced. The appointments are both effective Jan. 1, 2015.

Along with his leadership of the company's marketing and purchasing group, Hobson will be tasked with creating a cohesive sales organization. He will be responsible for all aspects of sales within the company including national accounts, field sales force, core solutions group, merchandising and sales force support. And he will be instrumental in leading the company to achieve its five-year vision of doubling revenues and doubling EBITDA.

Hobson has served in a variety of positions in the company: general sales manager, division president and most recently as the company's senior vice president of marketing, where he has spearheaded the fresh and vendor consolidation strategies.

McPherson will assume leadership of the company's information technology and the corporate logistics group. He will continue to lead the company's acquisition strategy as well as the TRAC organization. He also will be leading the teams that are instrumental in assembling the company's resources to ensure the smooth integration of new customers, new technology, new acquisitions and new buildings.

McPherson has served in a variety of positions in the company: General sales manager, division president, senior vice president of the U.S. divisions and most recently as senior vice president of development, where he led the company's acquisitions, TRAC team and developed and oversaw the core solutions group, which has been critical to making independent retailers relevant and more profitable.

South San Francisco, Calif.-based Core-Mark is one of the largest marketers of fresh and broad-line supply solutions to the convenience store industry in North America. It offers a full range of products, marketing programs and technology to approximately 33,000 customer locations in the United States and Canada through 29 distribution centers. Core-Mark services traditional c-store retailers, grocers, drug, liquor and specialty stores and other stores that carry convenience products.
