Eby-Brown Purchases L.A. Edlbeck Co.

Expands convenience distributors presence in Wisconsin

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Eby-Brown Co. LLC has announced that it has reached a definitive agreement to purchase the assets of L.A. Edlbeck Co. of Green Bay, Wis.

Servicing retail accounts throughout the Midwest, the Atlantic Coast and the Southeast, Eby-Brown is the largest privately held convenience store distributor in the United States with annual revenues in excess of $5 billion.

L.A. Edlbeck, also privately held, services convenience stores in northeast Wisconsin.

The acquisition increases Naperville, Ill.-based Eby-Brown's longstanding presence within the state of Wisconsin.

"Wisconsin has been a core market for us. We are most excited about establishing additional relationships with convenience store retailers in northeast Wisconsin," said Thomas Wake, co-president of Eby-Brown.

"Edlbeck has serviced the convenience market well through three generations. We will maintain that commitment to service excellence while delivering increased value with our quality service, promotional programs, and sophisticated technology," he added.
