Election Year Begins With CSP’s Category Manager of the Year

Finalists announced; suppliers to vote for top managers across eight vital c-store categories

OAKBROOK TERRACE, Ill. -- As the presidential race heats up, the convenience-store industry has its own election this year: CSP magazine’s inaugural Category Manager of the Year polls are now open.

CSP Category Manager of the Year Award

Between now and Feb. 19, CSP is asking suppliers to cast their votes at CSPnet.com/CategoryManagerAward to elect the c-store industry’s finest category manager.

“We launched this award program in order to properly recognize those whom many consider as the driving force behind the growth of the convenience-store industry,” said Jim Bursch, executive vice president of Convenience for Winsight LLC. “Who better to elect the winners of this prestigious award than the supplier partners who interact each and every day with the category managers?”

Finalists for this industry-first award were nominated by their supplier partners from October to December. Nominations were made based not only on bottom-line results, but also the extraordinary dedication displayed by our finalists in staying on top of trends, introducing new flavors and lines, and offering unique solutions to everyday category challenges.

The honor of Category Manager of the Year will be bestowed on one person from each of eight product categories:

  • Alcohol Beverages
  • Candy
  • Foodservice
  • General Merchandise/HBC
  • OTP
  • Packaged Beverages
  • Snacks
  • Tobacco

Winners of the Category Manager of the Year Award will be honored at a special ceremony, and will be featured in a special section of CSP’s 2016 Category Management Handbook.
