McLane announces service agreement with Nevada retailer

LAS VEGAS -- McLane Co. Inc. has entered into a three-year service agreement with Green Valley Grocery, a family-owned and operated retailer with 28 convenience stores in southern Nevada. The agreement extends through 2008.

David L. Crawford, marketing director for Green Valley Grocery, said, Our service agreement with McLane provides us the value, quality, support and services to continue to expand our business as a market leader and better meet the needs of our customers.

Green Valley Grocery has grown its market presence through [image-nocss] new construction and acquisitions, as well as by maintaining clean, well-merchandised, well-stocked stores, and by providing superior customer service, McLane said.

We believe this is a great opportunity for both McLane and Green Valley, said Bobby Carlson, president of McLane's Sunwest and Southern California Divisions.

Green Valley Grocery is a division of Crawford Oil Inc., Las Vegas. The stores operate throughout southern Nevada and provide Shell-branded fuel in addition to a wide assortment of consumer preferred convenience products and services.

Temple, Texas-based McLane provides distribution services throughout the United States, delivering food and nonfood products to more than 50,000 customer locations, including the convenience store, drug store, mass merchandise, quick-service restaurant and movie theater industries. It operates 19 grocery distribution divisions and 18 foodservice distribution centers as well as an industry specific software company. McLane is a wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Inc.
