McLane Honors

Four manufacturers earn annual awards
ORLANDO, Fla. -- McLane Inc. named four manufacturers winners of its annual awards during its national tradeshow held in April in Orlando, Fla.

The winners included Mars Chocolate North America, 5-hour Energy / Living Essentials, The Hershey Co. and Cadbury/Kraft Foods.

The awards they received and why:

Mars Chocolate North America. Program Optimization Award

Most efficient use of McLane Merchandising/Marketing systems to drive category growth. Awarded for using all available sources to increase sales and assist with category management, [image-nocss] i.e., Lab Store reviews, VTS, SMS, Promotional Calendar, responsiveness to customer requests for information and samples, packaging and data information up-to-date in Retail Services.

5-hour Energy / Living Essentials. Category Impact Award

Most profound impact on total c-store category growth and change. Awarded for making the biggest impact on the total channel category, specifically energy shots.

The Hershey Co.Technology Impact Award

Most technology driven/advanced. Awarded for consistently using the following tools and being active in PIR changes: Distribution flat file Item visibility Mpulse Data Sync and Production Introduction Certified VMI

Cadbury/Kraft Foods. Item Innovation Award

Most innovative item/category launch; speed-to-shelf impact into convenience class of trade; greatest new item launch in 2010, with respect to most innovative item differing. Awarded for innovative launches for new gum products (Stride, Layers and Functional Gum).

Temple, Texas-based McLane is a $34-billion supply-chain-services company, providing grocery and foodservice supply chain solutions for thousands of c-stores, mass merchants, drug stores and military locations, as well as thousands of chain restaurants throughout the United States.
