Riiser Testing R-Value Savings Store Concept

First location to open in Wausau, Wis.

WAUSAU, Wis. -- Riiser Energy is offering more products and deals as part of a new venture at one of its convenience stores in Wausau, Wis., reported The Wausau Daily Herald. The store is now an R-Value Savings Store. The store will feature additional beverages and various package deals for its products.

Riiser is locally owned and operates 23 c-stores in central and northern Wisconsin. The store in Wausau is Riiser's first attempt at an R-Value store, said the report.

According to the retailer's website, the R-Value Savings Store will offer increased savings [image-nocss] through multiple purchases. R-Value has everyday low prices on beer, tobacco, snacks and drinks and "the more you buy, the more you save," it said. R-Value offers expanded product lines in beverages as well as multiple items specials and package deals.

Offering a new open look inside, R-Value provides a "crisp, clean, inviting atmosphere" to enhance the shopping experience.

Todd Kopplin, vice president of retail operations for Riiser Energy, said he welcomes customer input on the new R-Value concept: "Our customers' feedback is important both at our new R-Value Savings Store and at our R-Stores."

The Retail Gas Division of Riiser Energy consists of 25 c-stores that sell motor fuel (gasoline and diesel) and convenience merchandise. These locations are all branded Mobil or BP. Their merchandise offerings include tobacco products, alcoholic beverages, soda, dairy products, candy and snacks, as well as general merchandise and lottery ticket sales. All locations have a hot beverage service that includes coffee, hot chocolate and cappuccino. The stores are generally open from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., with some locations operating 24 hours a day.

The Travel Center Division operates two full-service travel centers that sell motor fuel and convenience merchandise. These locations are branded BP. Additionally, these locations have a full-service restaurant (the Hwy. 51 Truck Stop Restaurant) and further cater to the over-the-road truck trade with showers and a driver's lounge. Their merchandise offerings include the same product mix as the c-stores, with additional emphasis on items desired by truckers (truck accessories and amenities like CB radios). These facilities are open 24 hours.

The Retail Dealer Division services 75 branded and unbranded fuel retailers who own and operate their own facilities. These independent businesses include c-stores, full-service fuel and repair facilities and travel centers. In addition to supplying petroleum products to these businesses, the staff of the RDD act as business counselors and as liaison between the branded supplier and the independent dealer.

The Wausau-based company also operates a Tankwagon Division, Transportation Department and Maintenance Department.
