Slusser Wholesale Closes Its Doors

Idaho-based c-store merchandise distributor cites poor economy
IDAHO FALLS, Idaho - Slusser Wholesale Co. in Idaho Falls, Idaho, is closing their doors after 65 years of business, according to a report by Localnews8-TV. The company said it is due to the failing economy. It is unknown at this time how many people will be losing their jobs.

The company offers convenience store programs and other services for supermarkets, drug stores and general stores. Its markets include Intermountain West, made up of most of the states of Idaho, Wyoming, Utah and Montana, as well as western Washington.

Its experience includes merchandising [image-nocss] brand name and generic health and beauty care, sundry items, candy and snacks with the recent addition of nonperishable groceries and tobacco items.

Other services include new-store planning, ordering, product placement, stock balancing and product priced to achieve the maximum profit and sales, the company said. Salespeople will work with store owners or managers to achieve the optimal efficient consumer response (ECR), store layout, product mix, product display and schematics in order to provide the most proficient overall store appearance.
