Speedway, Pugs Forge Distribution Partnership

Convenience store chain to carry line of sunglasses, other merchandise

ENON, Ohio -- Speedway LLC has forged a new partnership with Pugs Inc., a national distributor of sunglasses, charging accessories for smartphones and smart devices, seasonal apparel, work gloves and other general merchandise.

"We are deeply humble and extremely honored to have earned the trust of Speedway to partner with us in a multi-year agreement," said Brent Bartholio, national sales manager for Pugs. "Our commitment is to begin rolling out our sunglasses, smartphone chargers, ear buds, energy shots and pill supplement items starting mid-January. We look forward to driving sales, not only with our product line but with our proprietary replenishment DSD delivery system to stores in all eight states throughout the Midwest."

Pugs, established in 1984, is a privately held company providing DSD, DSS and distribution center fulfillment of Pugs-brand sunglasses, work gloves, electronics, apparel, and Snap-brand lighters. The company's corporate office is in Castle Rock, Colo.

Based in Enon, Ohio, Speedway is one of the largest chain of company-owned and -operated gasoline and convenience stores in the United States. Speedway has approximately 1,500 c-stores in nine states. Most of the stores are operated under the Speedway brand name. Speedway is a wholly owned subsidiary of Marathon Petroleum Corp. (MPC), Findlay, Ohio.
