Stamps to Go in 2Go

Tesoro Hawaii enrolls in postage sales program

HONOLULU -- Tesoro Hawaii convenience stores soon will offer postage stamps at face value, according to a report by Pacific Business News. Tesoro Corp. has enrolled 30 of its 2Go convenience stores on Oahu, Maui and the Big Island in the U.S. Postal Service's "Stamps to Go" program that allows Tesoro to buy stamps at face value and then requires them to sell that postage for the same price offered at the post office.

"We continuously seek ways to increase services and convenience for our customers," said Alan Nakamura, Tesoro regional merchandising manager in Honolulu, [image-nocss] in a statement. "In this challenging economy we're helping our customers get the most out of every visit to our stores by adding postage to the list of convenience items we offer."

The program is managed by American Banknote, Fort Lee, N.J., a secure documents, services and systems provider and manufacturer, said the report.

Honolulu-based Tesoro Hawaii operates the larger of the state's two refineries. It distributes refined products to customers on Oahu through company-owned and third-party pipeline systems. And it sells gasoline and diesel through a network of Tesoro-branded retail self-service stations on Oahu, Maui and the Big Island.

San Antonio, Texas-based Tesoro is an independent refiner and marketer of petroleum products. Through its subsidiaries, it operates seven refineries in the western United States with a combined capacity of approximately 660,000 barrels per day. Tesoro's retail-marketing system includes more than 870 branded retail stations, of which more than 380 are company operated under the Tesoro, Shell, Mirastar and USA Gasoline brands.
