CITGO Renews Credit-Card Relationship with Citi

Notes consumers paying more often with credit, debit cards

HOUSTON -- Citi Retail Services and CITGO Petroleum Corp. announced a multi-year renewal of their long-standing U.S. private-label credit-card relationship. This extension is the latest in a series of new and renewed partnerships between the recently rebranded Citi Retail Services and leading retailers, such as CITGO, across the country.

"CITGO is one of the leading providers of petroleum products in the United States, and we are thrilled to extend our successful partnership with the company," said Leslie McNamara, executive vice president, partnership management, Citi Retail Services. "We are committed to providing top-tier products and services--both now and with exciting new products in the future--and our renewal with CITGO is the latest affirmation that we are living up to that commitment."

Citi has provided branded payment products to CITGO since 1995. These payment cards not only allow CITGO retail locations to quickly and efficiently process purchases, but they also give customers added convenience and flexibility when buying fuel and convenience-store items.

"Trends over the years show a steady increase in consumer preference for paying with credit and debit cards, so with Citi as our partner, we are confident that consumers will receive the best products for making their purchases in our locations," said Gustavo Velasquez, CITGO vice president supply and marketing. "Additionally, our long-standing relationship continues to generate core programs that further enhance the CITGO brand."

Houston-based CITGO markets in 27 states plus the District of Columbia through approximately 6,000 locally owned retail locations.

Citi Retail Services, Atlanta, provides consumer and commercial credit-card products, services and retail solutions to national and regional retailers across the United States. The business serves nearly 90 million accounts for a number of iconic brands, including The Home Depot, Macy's and Sears, among others.
