Crater Joins Impact 21

Convenience-store industry vet will lead expansion plans

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Impact 21, a retail consulting, analytics and services company, has appointed Lucia Romanello Crater to the position of executive vice president, sales and business development. Crater will lead the company’s expansion efforts to serve more retailers, suppliers and technology companies with its services in retail strategy, acquisition integration, operations, technology, project management and analytics.

“[Crater] will be instrumental in aggressively expanding our services to existing and new clients as well as identifying new business development opportunities that leverage our extensive investments in project management, collaboration and cloud-based analytics,” said Impact 21 CEO Lesley Saitta. “Having an industry leader like Lucia on board is a real game changer for Impact 21—a milestone for our company. We now have a dedicated focus on providing our clients with new and innovative services that deliver greater results.”

Crater brings more than 25 years of experience in the convenience-store industry.

Most recently, Crater was the director of convenience at Jack Link’s, where she led a team of 28 account managers to implement new go-to-market strategies. She has held executive sales positions at leading companies such as KIND Healthy Snacks, Cardtronics, US Nutrition and GSP, where she was instrumental in driving convenience-store market share.

As an industry leader, Lucia is a member of the NACS Supplier Board, which she has served on since 2005.  She was elected chairman of the NACS Supplier Board in 2012 and served on the NACS Retail Board from 2011 to 2013.

She is a founding member of the Network of Executive Women (NEW) in the consumer products industry where she served as a board member from 2001 to 2008 and was chairman of the membership committee from 2001 to 2007.

Industry experts and former retailers Lesley Saitta and Lisa Stewart founded Impact 21 in 1998. The company is based in Lexington, Ky.
