CSP Daily News introduces new streaming video news program

NEW YORK -- CSP Information Group this morning launched the convenience store industry's first and only Internet-based video news program, with the introduction of CSPTV.

CSPTV will feature original news content, including one-on-one interviews and exclusive reports from industry events, in streaming Web video available every day in CSP Daily News and on CSPNet.com. The video reports, which will run for a full week at a time on CSP Daily News, will generally run about two to three minutes in length, with occasional features running slightly longer. CSPTV [image-nocss] is presented in a streaming format via Windows Media Player, which allows for quick, smooth viewing with no need for advance downloading of files or software.

With broadband penetration nearing 90% among our 28,000-plus CSP Daily News subscribers, CSPTV provides a rich new information experience accessible in their in-box every business morning, said John Callanan, CSP's Internet Group Publisher. In addition to the outstanding original reporting provided via CSP Daily News every day, our readers can now further their experience with all the benefits of sound and full-motion video.

As has been widely reported, Internet delivery of video programming for news and information purposes both in and out of the work environment is growing at a rapid pace. According to the latest data, some 50 million Americans now turn to the Internet as their primary source of daily news. CSPTV reports will feature the editorial staffs of CSP Magazine and CSP Daily News providing their insights and interviews of industry thought leaders retailers and suppliers both large and small.

CSP Daily News is already the favored industry online daily by a wide margin, Callanan said, and by enabling our editorial team to continue to lead the way via an exciting new form of news delivery, we believe we are taking the product to an even higher level in terms of its value to our readers.

CSPTV launched this morning with CSP president and editorial direct Paul Reuter in an informative interview with long-time industry expert Dick Meyer of CSX LLC.
