Fas Mart Partners With Support U.S. Armed Forces

GPM Investments raises more than $66,000 for military families
RESEARCH TRIANGLE, N.C. -- Convenience retailer GPM Investments LLC, which operates both the Fas Mart and Shore Stop convenience store chains, teamed up with the nonprofit Support U.S. Armed Forces organization in February to raise more than $66,000.00 for families of military personnel currently deployed around the globe.

"This has been a fantastic partnership," said Neal Clark, founder of Support U.S. Armed Forces. "This partnership was a natural fit because of how many people within the Fas Mart family are veterans or related to military personnel. These folks got behind [image-nocss] us 100% and really showed that they appreciate the sacrifices made, not only by our active duty personnel, but of those made by their families who are anxiously waiting for them to come home."

David Eisenberg, president and chief executive officer of GPM, is also very pleased with the results of the partnership.

"We are delighted to partner with Support U.S. Armed Forces in their mission to aid families of our brave men and women in uniform. At such a time as this, when our military efforts are seemingly taking a 'back seat' to the economic news of the day, we feel as though it's more important than ever to show our continued support of our local military families," he said. "Moreover, and perhaps, most importantly, it should be noted that we undertook this fundraising challenge with the focus and purpose that 100% of the money raised would be used to support the military families in our LOCAL communities."

Founded in 2009, Support U.S. Armed Forces is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit charitable organization whose mission is to support the troops by providing morale, welfare and encouragement to men and women in uniform. Recent efforts have focused on providing families of service members with assistance packages (consisting of daily household essentials) while their loved ones are deployed.

GPM is headquartered in Richmond, Va., and operates 213 c-stores and supplies more than 115 independent dealers in Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Connecticut, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Tennessee.
