Customer donations will be collected until January 24 at all of Kum & Go's 432 stores throughout the company's 11-state Midwestern marketing area (Iowa, Arkansas, Colorado, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota and Wyoming).
New York City-based Hess Corp. said that it has donated $1 million to Haiti earthquake relief efforts.
John Hess, chairman and CEO of the integrated oil company, said, "To help provide medical care, shelter, water and other essential supplies, we are donating $1 million to the following outstanding organizations that are on the ground in Haiti providing critical aid: $500,000 to the International Medical Corps; $250,000 to UNICEF; and $250,000 to the International Rescue Committee."
In addition, Hess has offered a matching gift program for employees who wish to make a personal contribution to these relief organizations.Houston-based ConocoPhillips said that it will contribute $1 million to the American Red Cross to assist in disaster relief efforts. This assistance is in addition to contributions and volunteer efforts already being made by various employee groups at the company.O'Ryan's Monticello said on its Twitter and Facebook pages that Coconut Creek, Fla.-based National Payment Card Association, the Monticello, Minn., retailer's processor for its Direct Gas Rewards Debit Card, is donating 100% of the profits from its processing fees to the American Red Cross International Response Fund for Haiti for three days: January 26-28.
Olfus, Iceland-based Icelandic Water Holdings ehf, makers of the CarbonNeutral natural spring water Icelandic Glacial, have announced today that the company donated three tons of bottled water to victims of the earthquake in Haiti. Icelandic Glacial is distributed in the United States by Anheuser-Busch, which took a 20% ownership stake in the company in July 2007.
And in an update, Kraft Foods Foundation said it is donating $200,000 to the American Red Cross for relief efforts. The company has a special 2:1 match for employees' donations up to $100,000, bringing the total matching component to $300,000.
