Huck's Raises $288,000 Through Karing for Kids

Holiday program now in seventh year
CARMI, Ill. -- Huck's Convenience Stores has announced that corporate and store-level fundraising for its Karing for Kids program resulted in the collection and distribution of $288,000 to help children in the local markets of its 107 stores have a great Christmas.

The Karing for Kids program is now in its seventh year, a spokesperson for the Carmi, Ill.-based firm, Martin & Bayley, told The Carmi Times.

It's based on "the very simple of idea of providing children whose circumstances would have prevented them from celebrating a traditional Christmas the [image-nocss] opportunity to go Christmas shopping for themselves and their family."

Huck's stores, its corporate office and distribution center administer the program on a local basis to help ensure that the funds are used wisely to assist families that are in our markets. Fundraising is conducted through corporate sponsorships, rummage and bake sales and other innovative types of fundraisers at the store level.

"We are excited at the support that our vendors, customers and associates have shown once again to 'Karing for Kids'," said Todd Jenney, Huck's CEO. "We are not only able to help kids have a better Christmas, but also have the funds for a scholarship program and to conduct other philanthropic activities during the year. This program is our way of including as many people as possible in the extended Huck's family."

Martin & Bayley is a 100% employee-owned company operating Huck's stores in Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Kentucky and Tennessee.
