It's a Bird! It's a Plane! It's a 7-Eleven!

Convenience store chain earns high-profile spot in new Superman movie

PLANO, Ill. -- Talk about a super power! 7-Eleven scores another branding coup with its association with the now-being-filmed Superman reboot Man of Steel.

The website Moviehole.com reports that a "makeshift 7-Eleven" is among the structures built for the movie's Smallville set in Plano in northwestern Illinois. The movie is set to debut in 2013.Click here to see related photographs.

The tie-in is 7-Eleven's latest link [image-nocss] to a superhero movie. Other recent movie promotions have included Cowboys & Aliens, Captain America, Sherlock Holmes, Terminator Salvation and The Simpsons Movie, among others.

A 7-Eleven store was destroyed in Terminator Salvation (2009).

Produced by Christopher Nolan, the Man of Steel story was conceived by David Goyer and Nolan, according to ReelzChannel.com. Plot details are being kept under wraps but, reportedly, the movie will follow a younger Superman trying to figure out his powers and his place in the world.

The Man of Steel cast includes Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman; Kevin Costner and Diane Lane as Jonathan and Martha Kent, respectively; Amy Adams as Lois Lane; Michael Shannon as Zod; Antje Traue as Faora. Russell Crowe and Julia Ormond play Superman's biological parents, Jor-El and Lara Lor-Van.
