Love's Provides Tornado Disaster Relief in Indiana, Kentucky

Donates $25,000 to Red Cross regional chapter; employees lend assistance

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores has announced that it will donate $25,000 to the American Red Cross, Louisville, Ky., Regional Chapter, to help communities in the southern Indiana and Kentucky areas struck by tornadoes on March 2.

Several of Love's own employees in Memphis, Ind., were affected by the severe storm damage, losing their homes and property.

Since the tornados struck last Friday, Love's employees have worked both at Love's and in the community to help residents in their time of need. Love's employees came together to aid those affected by offering free water, paying for meals at the Subway connected to Love's, providing free showers and ensuring all customers had access to items they needed. Love's employees have also set up grills and generators in affected areas to serve hot dogs, hamburgers, hot cocoa and more in partnership with the Red Cross.

Love's is committed to serving the communities where it operates and to offering a helping hand in times of need, the company said.

"We are fortunate that our employees remained safe during the tornados throughout the Midwest last week," said Tom Love, president and CEO. "Our hearts go out to those who were affected by these devastating storms. The dedication and compassion Love's employees have shown during this great time of need in their community is a true testament to their character, and I am proud to say they work for Love's."

Founded in 1964 by Tom Love, Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores is headquartered in Oklahoma City, and remains entirely family-owned and operated. With more than 280 locations and 130 truck tire care centers in 39 states, Love's approximate growth rate is 20 stores per year. Love's is currently ranked No. 7 on Forbes magazine's annual listing of America's largest privately held companies.
