The 30-minute episodes of Kick Start TV were created by Maverik executives in 2008 as an extension of the retail brand. Maverik stores have an adventure theme, featuring murals, mannequins and other three-dimensional elements that elicit the feeling of being outdoors. According to Maverik, the show has helped foster brand loyalty with vendors and consumers alike.
"Maverik has long been a close partner of the Special Olympics of Utah," said Jennie Beaird, adventure image coordinator for Maverik. "We have supported Special Olympics with a biannual vendor-funded golf tournament, participation in the Torch Run, Truck Convoy, Polar Plunge, Over the Edge events and development of a Maverik/Special Olympics loyalty card program to fund Olympian travel expenses. And this year we are donating a Kick Start reality TV adventure to be auctioned off to some lucky bidder."
"We are thrilled about the partnership that Maverik has shown for our CARRE Foundation program in conjunction with Outlook Leadership this year," said Kay Segal, vice president of Leadership Conferences & Events for CSP. "The principle of our spotlighted charity, the Special Olympics, is that all people can benefit from sport. The tie-in with the extreme sports of Kick Start TV will definitely provide a unique opportunity for someone."
Maverik is a family-owned and -operated chain with more than 200 convenience stores in seven western states and employs more than 3,000 people.
