NOCO Selling E-ZPass

First off-Thruway retailer in On-the-Go program

TONAWANDA, N.Y. -- The New York State Thruway Authority said that it has approved the first off-Thruway retailer, NOCO Energy Corp., to distribute E-ZPass tags through its new E-ZPass On-the-Go program.

"Through the On-the-Go program, Thruway customers can purchase an E-ZPass tag at off-Thruway retail locations, such as NOCO Express, and begin using it instantly and benefit from its convenience and time savings," said Thruway Authority Executive Director Michael R. Fleischer.

"In addition to the discount E-ZPass offers over cash, [image-nocss] and the continued operational improvements being implemented Thruway-wide, further expanding the availability of On-the-Go makes getting E-ZPass more attractive than ever, especially in Western New York."

Under this new initiative, NOCO will be selling E-ZPass On-the-Go tags to consumers, with the consumer receiving the full $25 credit of the purchase price of the tag on their account.

"NOCO's partnership with E-ZPass seemed like a natural partnership, because we both strive to save time for motorists on-the-go," said Henry Bays, general manager, NOCO Express Shops. "NOCO is always looking for new products and services to provide greater convenience to our valuable customers and this is just another example."

Upon purchasing an On-the-Go tag, customers receive a prepaid E-ZPass tag worth $25 that will be active upon purchase. E-ZPass provides a savings of 10% over cash on all Thruway tolls for passenger vehicles. On-the-Go tags are currently not available for commercial vehicles.

E-ZPass is used by 20 transportation agencies in 10 Northeast states. More than 2.2 million Thruway customers currently use E-ZPass and more than 6.6 million New York State E-ZPass tags are currently in use. Since the authority launched the E-ZPass On-the-Go program in May 2004, more than 26,400 On-the-Go tags have been sold for passenger vehicle use, it said.

Tonawanda, N.Y.-based NOCO operates approximately 30 locations in western New York.
