DOSWELL, Va. -- PayKiosks Internet Terminals completed its first wireless (Wi-Fi) installations for the All American group of truckstops and travel plazas.
The first of this group of truckstop Wi-Fi installations was completed May 1 in Doswell, Va. The location will now be able to offer wireless Internet access to all of the truckers using the facility as well as guests staying at the Econo Lodge, also located on the property.
An Internet terminal will be located in the convenience store to provide Internet access to guests that [image-nocss] do not have a laptop. Quick links on the Internet terminal will provide customers with easy access to local attractions, weather, maps and road reports.
PayKiosks has traditionally focused on the hotel and resort markets, but considers the truckstop locations to be as good, if not better, than hotels.
You can't dispute the appeal of these locations, said PayKiosks Internet Terminals president, Scott McInnes. Truck drivers are some of the most connected business people around. The Internet and email are a part of their daily business and personal lives. We're very excited by what this opportunity offers for the customers of the All Americans, our terminal operators and our company.
Vancouver, B.C.-based PayKiosks Internet Terminals is building a wireless footprint through a distributorship program in which a local operator will place a Wi-Fi enabled Internet terminal in a location at no charge to the establishment, it said.
All American Plazas Inc., Frystown, Pa., owns and operates 11 interstate travel plazas in four Northeast states.
