Ralphs, Shell Team Up for Double Points Promotion

Helping Southern California consumers earn rewards faster
LOS ANGELES -- Ralphs Grocery Co. is teaming up with Shell to help customers throughout Southern California earn savings on fuel faster with a new Double Points promotion this summer. Starting on May 2, Southern California-area customers--from San Diego to San Luis Obispo--will earn double points on qualifying purchases at Ralphs when they buy fuel at participating Shell locations.

When customers purchase fuel at a participating Shell station, they are prompted to print a receipt with the Double Points offer. When they bring this Shell receipt and their Ralphs rewards Card [image-nocss] to buy qualifying groceries at Ralphs, they will receive double points at checkout for that single purchase that can be redeemed for fuel discounts at participating Shell locations.

Shell receipts can be printed at the pump after any fuel purchase at a Shell station. The Double Points offer ends on August 31, 2011. The Double Points promotional receipts can be applied toward purchases at Ralphs through September 30, 2011. No minimum fuel purchase required. Shell receipts cannot be combined with any other Ralphs bonus rewards points offer.

"Our Double Points promotion can help customers earn rewards even faster during this summer," said Mike Donnelly, president of Ralphs Supermarkets. "We want to give our customers in the Southern California area more convenient ways to save on fuel. Now the fuel discounts can add up more quickly, helping our shoppers fill up their tank for less more often."

Dan Little, North America fuels marketing manager for Shell Oil Products U.S., said, "Shell understands how important it is these days for customers to stretch their dollars. The Double Points promotion can help local customers earn Ralphs rewards points that can be redeemed for fuel savings at conveniently located participating Shell stations. It's never been easier to save on high-quality Shell Nitrogen Enriched Gasolines and Shell Diesel."

Every time Ralphs' customers in the area make a qualifying purchase with their Ralphs rewards Card, they save money on groceries and earn points that can be redeemed for saving on fuel at participating Shell stations. Ralphs customers can redeem 100 points per visit to save 10 cents per gallon instantly at participating Shell stations. This offer is valid up to 35 gallons of fuel per purchase.

Points will be automatically added to Ralphs rewards Card accounts and will be reflected on Ralphs' receipts after every purchase. Customers may redeem their points at participating Shell stations by using their Ralphs rewards Card at the pump, manually entering their card number or entering their alternate ID.

Ralphs Grocery was founded in 1873 and currently operates 256 supermarkets from its headquarters in Los Angeles. The company is a division of The Kroger Co., one of the nation's largest food retailers, based in Cincinnati.
