Rutter's, Quick Chek Announce Contest Winners

YORK, Pa. -- Delane Smith of Wrightsville, York County, Pa., was is sixth of eight Rutter's customers to win free gasoline for a year in the company's "Fuel Up Free!" contest, which ran through August 29.

The final two winners will be announced in early September. The other winners are Linda Wells, York; Joe Kopp, Fairview Township; Doug Davis, West Manchester Township; David Wagner, Littlestown; and Mark Shaffer, Spring Garden Township, all in Pennsylvania.

During the contest, Rutter's offered monthly food and beverage specials. Each purchase of a featured item earned [image-nocss] a customer one contest entry. The more featured items purchased, the more opportunities to win.

The participating contest sponsors were Coca-Cola, Davis Beverage, Edy's Grand Ice Cream, Glaceau, Jack and Jill Ice Cream, Kunzler & Co., Monster Beverages, Nestle Waters, Pepsi Cola, Pennsylvania Lottery, Red Bull, Rutter's Dairy and S&D Coffee.

Family-owned and third-generation-managed, York, Pa.-based Rutter's operates 55 convenience stores in York, Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin and Lancaster counties in Pennsylvania.

Separately, Whitehouse Station, N.J.-based Quick Chek last week announced Ann Yuen, a Hoboken, N.J. resident, as the winner of a smart fortwo Precision Coupe in 7UP's Smart fortwo Sweepstakes.

In partnership with the leading soft drink brand, customers visiting any one of Quick Chek's Garden State store locations from April 19 through July 11 were given the opportunity to obtain a special text code to enter the contest for a chance to win the new automobile.

Quick Chek operates 125 fresh foodservice convenience stores in New Jersey and southern New York, including 12 pharmacy stores and 28 locations with fuel.

Also separately, Colonial Coffee Roasters Inc. said that the winner of its first annual $500 business card drawing was Karen Weathers, director of foodservices for Clyde's Market, Glennville, Ga., at this year's Georgia Association of Convenience Stores (GACS) 2010 Southern Convenience Store & Petroleum Show in Macon, Ga.

In addition to roasting coffee for resellers since 1945, Miami-based Colonial Coffee Roasters has expanded its outreach to the private-label market.
