SIGMA Announces 2009 Pay It Forward Scholarships

$18,000 awarded to nine recipients

WASHINGTON -- The Society of Gasoline Marketers of America (SIGMA) has announced the recipients of the 2009 SIGMA Share Group Pay It Forward Scholarships. The Pay It Forward scholarship is available to company employees and families of SIGMA regular members. Recipients are chosen based on community involvement and meeting a minimum grade point of 2.5.
Thanks to the generous sponsorships by Energy Recruiters (ERI) $10,000; Telvent DTN $5,000; and Caliber Consulting $3,000, a total of $18,000 was awarded to 9 deserving students.
One $4,000 scholarship was awarded to Jenna [image-nocss] Conan of Plaid Pantry. Two $3,000 scholarship recipients were Amy Craig of Downs Energy and Tara Vanden Elsen of Design Air. Two $2000 scholarship recipients were Amanda Carls of Growmark and Emily Parks of Growmark. Three $1,000 scholarship recipients were Stephanie Aldecoa of Stinker Stores, Brock Wootton of XTR Energy, Nicole Wright of Evergreen FS and Chet Kresge of Shipley Group. SIGMA said that it extends it congratulations to all recipients of the Pay It Forward Scholarship. More information about the scholarship program is available on SIGMA's website, www.sigma.org.
