Sobeys, Irving Relaunch Gas Coupon Program

Companies field "Easy to Save Street Teams"

SAINT JOHN, N.B. -- Irving and Sobeys have brought back their gasoline coupon program, the companies said. With a minimum $50 grocery purchase, Sobeys shoppers across Atlantic Canada will automatically receive a paper coupon for per-liter savings on fuel purchased. With a purchase of $250 or more, customers can save nine cents per liter. The program will run until March 31, 2011.

Multiple coupons can be used together to maximize savings, the companies added.

To kick off the relaunch of the savings program, the companies sent "Easy to Save Street Teams" to designated [image-nocss] Sobeys and Irving locations in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland last weekend with free giveaways like eco-friendly shopping bags, reusable coupon cases and more. A few randomly selected shoppers will also receive gift cards worth up to $100 for Irving or Sobeys just by meeting a Street Team member while they shop or fill up.

Shoppers who come across an Easy to Save Street Team member at any Irving or Sobeys location, take a photo and post that photo to the Irving Oil Facebook page will also be eligible to receive an Irving gift card.
