TA Touts StayFit Program for New Year

Committed to helping drivers stay in shape with food, fitness, fun

WESTLAKE, Ohio --TravelCenters of America LLC is starting the New Year by offering professional drivers a wide selection of helpful options to guide them towards a healthier lifestyle.

TravelCenters now offers more better-for-you food offerings, fitness options and helpful information from their StayFit program to encourage drivers to get fit and stay healthy this New Year.

“We’re committed and proud to help our customers manage their health and be an integral part of their solution to eating better and exercising while they are out on the road,” said Tom O’Brien, president and CEO of TravelCenters.

Drivers can find a wide variety of StayFit items and activities throughout the travel centers. Healthier Grab ‘N Go snacks like Vitamin Water, yogurt and Good2Go fresh fruit and veggie cups. There are also many satisfying dining options noted with the StayFit symbol on select full-service restaurant menus at participating TA and Petro locations.

StayFit exercise options include fitness rooms, walking/running trails (maps available at most locations), basketball hoops and outdoor fitness areas at many locations, offered at no cost to customers. In addition, many sites now offer horseshoe and bean bag toss recreation options allowing professional drivers the ability to foster a sense of community and respect with one another, while getting in some light exercise. To play, the location loans the equipment free of charge to drivers from the travel store counter.

Drivers who prefer to work out in their cabs can purchase from a wide selection of fitness accessories like push up bars, resistance bands, hand grips and workout gloves from the travel stores.

TravelCenters of America or franchisees now offer 24 businesses geared toward servicing various health and medical needs of professional drivers.

Westlake, Ohio-based TravelCenters of America's 253 full-service travel centers operate under the TravelCenters of America, TA, Petro Stopping Centers and Petro brands in 43 U.S. states and in Canada. The facilities include diesel and gasoline fueling, restaurants, truck repair facilities, travel and convenience stores and other services. The company also operates 184 convenience stores, principally under the Minit Mart brand, in 11 states.
