Military veterans and active military service personnel with ID may visit any of Terrible's 16 manned car wash locations in Las Vegas from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm on November 11 and receive a free basic, full-service or basic exterior car wash.
Terrible Herbst was founded in 1959 and consists of 37 car washes, 21 lube locations and more than 100 convenience [image-nocss] store/gas stations in the Las Vegas area.
Separately, Seattle-based Car Wash Enterprises Inc.'s Brown Bear Car Wash is honoring veterans and service personnel on Veterans Day with free car washes at all of its tunnel car washes.
"This program is designed to show our support and gives us a unique opportunity to say 'thank you' to people who sacrifice for our freedom," said Victor Odermat, president. "We hope this small gesture will increase support for veterans throughout the business community as well as create enthusiasm and patriotism in our workforce.... We know that Freedom is not free."
Car Wash Enterprises Inc, the parent company of Brown Bear Car Wash and Hungry Bear Market, offers a variety of car washing options, including in-bay automatic washes, conveyorized tunnel washes and self-serve facilities. Many of its outlets also sell premium top-tier gasoline brands including Chevron, Union 76 and Texaco. Many operate in conjunction with convenience stores. Hungry Bear offers a variety of snacks, beverages and more.
And De Pere, Wis.-based PDQ Manufacturing Inc., a leading manufacturer of touch-free vehicle wash systems, has announced its support for the annual Grace For Vets Free Car Wash Program, which has been designed to honor all veterans and military personnel by giving them a free car wash on Veterans Day.
The Grace For Vets organization was founded in 2004 by Michael Mountz, president of Cloister Wash & Lube, Ephrata, Pa., as a way to honor veterans and personnel for their service to the country.
The program was incorporated in 2009 with 252 car wash companies and more than 500 locations spanning 44 states combining to wash 60,744 vehicles for free. More than 400 companies with a total of 1,041 locations in 45 states and the District of Columbia have committed to providing free car washes this year. Grace For Vets has established a goal for its participants of completing 100,000 free car washes in all 50 states.
"Grace For Vets is a great organization that is doing great work for our military veterans and service personnel, and we are extremely honored to lend our support to the cause," said Ken Dollhopf, PDQ's vice president of marketing and new business development. "With that in mind, we urge all car wash operators to consider participation in this worthwhile program as a small way of letting our military personnel, both active and retired, know that they are in our thoughts and to thank them for their service."
PDQ Manufacturing brands include LaserWash In-Bay Automatics, MaxAir Dryers, Access Customer Management Systems and Tandem RiteTouch Vehicle Wash Systems.
