Texas 7-Eleven Franchise Group Helps Swim Across America

Served as title sponsors of open water swim event on June 8

DALLAS -- For the second year, the Texas 7-Eleven Franchise Owners' Association pledged to raise at least $25,000 for Swim Across America (SSA) Dallas. During May, more than 130 franchise-owned 7-Eleven stores sold donation flags throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, DFW. The Texas 7-Eleven Franchise Owners were a title sponsor of the SAA Dallas open water swim event on June 8 in Rockwall, Texas.

"We are excited to have our stores participate in the cause and we hope to surpass our goal of $25,000," said Bob Price, president of the Association. We raised more than that amount last year, so we believe this goal to be attainable, but we need the community to help by making donations at their local 7-Eleven stores."

In its first year as the title sponsor of the SAA Open Water Swim Event, the Texas 7-Eleven Franchise Owners' Association donated $30,000. All proceeds raised for SAA Dallas benefit the Innovative Clinical Trials Center in the Baylor Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center at Dallas, the largest outpatient cancer center in North Texas dedicated to cancer care, research and education.

"The tremendous contribution the Texas 7-Eleven Franchise Owners' Association have made have been so positive and we are excited that they are hosting their tournament for the second year," said Andrea Dickson, co-chair of the Dallas event. "Their donations and efforts to rally the community are a way to help end the battles people with cancer fight daily."

Swim Across America Inc., is a 501(c)(3) dedicated to raising money and awareness for cancer research, prevention and treatment through swimming-related events.
