Thorntons Expands FREEquency Rewards

New value-added benefit of company’s Refreshing Rewards loyalty program

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Convenience-store retailer Thorntons Inc. said it has expanded its FREEquency Rewards program to give customers more of what they want free. This expansion is built upon the long-running program for dispensed beverages.

Thorntons Frequency Refreshing Rewards

FREEquency Rewards will provide offers on products such as fountain drinks, packaged beverages, candy, snacks and more. Customers are automatically eligible for FREEquency Rewards items when they register for the Refreshing Rewards loyalty program.

FREEquency Rewards is an exclusive perk for Refreshing Rewards members that rewards customers on what they buy the most. When a customer buys a certain amount of specially marked FREEquency Rewards products, he or she will receive the next one free. Customers can track their progress towards free product on the Thorntons Refreshing Rewards mobile app.

Customers may register the card in store, through the Refreshing Rewards mobile application available in the App Store and Google Play or online.

Launched in 2014, Thorntons’ Refreshing Rewards is a customer loyalty program based on visits rather than dollars spent. Benefits of this program include personalized perks, 24-hour low fuel-price guarantees and automatic entries into "swipestakes" giveaways. At the end of July, Thorntons celebrated another milestone for the Refreshing Rewards program—1.25 million registered customers.

Based in Louisville, Ky., Thorntons operates more than 180 gasoline and convenience stores, car washes and travel plazas in six states: Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee and Florida.
